Virtual Worship Service (1-25-26)

PVCC Online Service Recap (Ice Storm Sunday)

This morning’s service looked a little different as Pleasant View Community Church gathered online due to dangerous ice and road conditions. Pastor Joe opened in prayer, asking the Lord to keep our church family safe, strengthen those who still had to work in treacherous conditions, and use this service to glorify Christ—especially praying that anyone who doesn’t know the Lord would come to faith today.

Worship

George and family led us in worship from home with these songs:

  • A Mighty Fortress Is Our God
  • As the Deer
  • Amazing Grace
  • Revelation Song

Message: “The Singularity of Christ” (John 10:7–18)

Pastor Joe preached from Jesus’ “I Am” statements in John 10, emphasizing how often Jesus speaks in the first person—because the focus belongs on Him. The key theme was simple and clear: Jesus Christ is not one option among many—He is the only way.

Main points:

  • One way of salvation: Jesus says, “I am the gate.” Salvation and safety come only through Him.
  • One true Shepherd: Jesus is the Good Shepherd who lays down His life for the sheep, unlike a hired hand who runs when danger comes.
  • One true Father known through Christ: We can truly know God only because Jesus knows the Father and brings us into relationship with Him.
  • One flock / one church: Jesus gathers His people—Jew and Gentile—into one body, united in Him, hearing His voice and following Him.

Pastor Joe closed by calling anyone watching who may be trusting in church membership, family background, or religion to instead come directly to Christ—admitting sin, believing Jesus died and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord. He ended in prayer for salvation, comfort, and safety, encouraging everyone to pray for one another and stay careful on the roads.

The Supremacy of Christ In All Things — Colossians 1:15–20

I’m thankful for the opportunity I had to preach this week at Pleasant View Community Church. 🙏
As the praise team leader, it was a joy to open God’s Word with our church family.

The message is from Colossians 1:15–20, and it centers on this truth:
Jesus is the center of all things.

Paul shows us Christ as:

  • 👑 Supreme over creation
  • ⛪️ Head of the church
  • 🌅 Victorious over death
  • ✝️ The One who makes peace through His blood

The Supremacy of Christ in All Things
Colossians 1:15–20
Preached January 18, 2026
George Dunn

If you need encouragement, perspective, or a fresh look at who Jesus truly is, I hope this sermon is a blessing.

🎄 Christmas Worship Service Recap | Pleasant View Community Church 🎄

What a sweet, Christ-centered Sunday as we worshiped the Lord on the Sunday before Christmas—celebrating the incarnation, when Jesus entered the world to save and redeem His people. 🙏✨

We opened with prayer and a reminder to “set our hearts on the Audience of One,” asking the Holy Spirit to move with power—not just to inform minds, but to convert hearts.

🎶 Special Christmas Music Highlights

Today’s service was filled with beautiful specials and classic carols that pointed us straight to the manger and the mission of Christ:

  • “A Strange Way to Save the World” (a moving reminder that only God would write the salvation story this way)

  • A meaningful intro to “O Little Town of Bethlehem” (including the story behind the hymn) followed by congregational singing

  • “O Holy Night”

  • “Mary, Did You Know”

  • “Silent Night” with Scripture readings woven throughout (Gabriel’s announcement, Joseph’s dream, the journey to Bethlehem, and the angels’ message to the shepherds)

📖 Sermon: “The Savior Announced” (Luke 1:26–38)

In the message, we backed up to the moment when the angel Gabriel was sent to Mary with the announcement of Jesus’ birth. Key truths we were reminded of:

God’s timing is always perfect (even when it doesn’t look “convenient” to us)

Grace is woven into God’s providence — “favor” truly means grace

God’s plan is perfect — the promise of David’s everlasting throne finds its fulfillment in Jesus

Where God’s presence is found, God’s power is manifested — “The Holy Spirit will come upon you… and the power of the Most High will overshadow you.”

✅ And when God works, surrender is the response — like Mary: “I am the Lord’s servant. May it happen to me as you have said.”

The invitation was clear: stop trying to control everything, and surrender to God, because nothing will be impossible with Him.

🙌 Family Moment

We also celebrated as Caleb and Maddie came forward to join PVCC—and we welcomed them with joy as God continues adding to our church family!

🎁 As we head into Christmas, our prayer is simple: Christ be exalted, the church be strengthened, and hearts be saved and restored.

📌 “Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”Psalm 37:4 (KJV)

Merry Christmas, everyone! 🎄👑✨

🔥 10-19-25 Sunday Message – Titus 2:7–10 & Philemon 🔥

📖 “In everything make yourself an example of good works…” — Titus 2:7

Pastor Joe reminded us that faith isn’t just about what we know — it’s about how we live. 💬

Each of us “teaches” through our example, so our words and actions should show integrity and dignity. 👣

💡 Key Takeaways:

  • 👉 Be the kind of example you’d want others to follow.
  • 👉 Sound doctrine means living truth, not just knowing it.
  • 👉 The gospel makes us all equal—rich or poor, master or servant—level at the foot of the cross. ✝️
  • 👉 True ministry is marked by humility, servant-heartedness, and contentment—not ego or gain.
  • 👉 Paul’s letter to Philemon shows Christlike forgiveness and partnership (koinonia): Onesimus the slave returned as a brother in Christ. 🤝

🙌 Challenge for the Week:

Let’s live drastically out of the norm for our culture—reflecting Christlike character in every part of life. 🌿

Living the Lord’s Prayer

What a powerful morning at Pleasant View Community Church! 🙌

Pastor Joe walked us through the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9–15):
Honor His Name — live so God’s reputation is seen as holy. ✨ (Romans 2:24; Ezekiel 20:44; Matthew 6:9)
Seek His Kingdom & Will — God’s will on earth as in heaven. 👑 (Matthew 6:10; Luke 22:42)
Daily Bread — trust God one day at a time. 🍞 (Matthew 6:11; Exodus 16:4; John 6:35)
Real Forgiveness — forgiven people forgive; Jesus paid our unpayable debt. ❤️‍🩹 (Matthew 6:12, 14–15; Ephesians 4:32; Matthew 18:21–35)
Protection in Temptation — God gives a way of escape. 🛡️ (Matthew 6:13; 1 Corinthians 10:13; James 1:13)
